Andy Warhol's Frankenstein Review

Review: Andy Warhol's Frankenstein

Director: Paul Morrissey

From what I understand, warhol didn't have a whole lot to do with the making of this movie except paying for it, however putting his name on it means people might actually give a damn about it. Funny, i read in the news recently that a bunch of his artwork is no longer considered "his" artwork, as he often gave instructions to assistants and let them create it. The value of these works have plumited - ha ha. The quality of art doesn't matter, just the name associated with it. So anyway, about this movie - it was pretty slow, but it had it's moments. The take on the frankenstein story was ballsy - funny and campy, not as much as Frankenhooker, but pretty wild for 73. Incest, necrophilia, gore... real over-the-top. I think the best part about it was the overacting baron with his hilarious accent/gay-lisp. Wish I could have seen the original 3-D version.
