Cinemania Review

Review: Cinemania

Director: Angela Christlieb & Stephen Kijak

A documentary on cinephiles (extremely obsessed film buffs) in NYC, this movie made me both laugh, and frankly want to kill these people for being such huge losers. The movie follows 5 film buffs, showing their day to day habits (which include nothing or watching movies mostly) and interviewing them about what movies changed their lives and all that shit. What pissed me off the most was that, yeah, movies did change these people's lives; but not for the better. Movie RUINED these people's lives and they don't seem to know/care. A couple of them can't hold jobs, the other ones don't have one at all. They go to the theatre and watching the same movies all the time, or they theatre hop and see a shit load of movies. And they are film snobs. They only like certain movies or genres, and they look down on people who don't care/know about that subject. The movie was really great as a whole, and a must for anyone who thinks that they are a film buff by any means at all. Its just the lifestyle of these people that really gets you in THE END.
