I'm not going to pretend I know a bunch about anime. I've seen only about a dozen full length anime movies and have only watched shows I can find on TV. It's just so GOD DAMN EXPENSIVE to buy the stuff. I'm amazed at what I have seen, I'm starting to feel like Japan is becoming the new king of story telling. Whenever two very different cultures are fused together, the product can be something incredible (take rock-n-roll for instance). That's what anime appears to have done with it's heavy american influences. Cowboy Bebop is a great example of this. While mainstream american animated movies under the leadership of The Rat (Disney) look more and more like one big toy commercial, movies like Cowboy Bebop are being made that are innovative from their animation style down to their soundtrack. Hopefully americans will catch on and begin looking outside their borders for inspiration. It can be done, look at Kill Bill!
