Dead & Buried Review

Review: Dead & Buried

Director: Gary Sherman

This is a movie I've been wanting to see for a long time but could never find in video stores. I finally just broke down and bought the DVD. The production on this DVD release was top notch. It had great packaging and art, and the disks had tons of extras. The story reminded me of 50's horror, along the lines of Invasion of the Body Snatchers or a Twilight Zone episode, only this was much more brutal. One poor bastard gets most of his face burned off, he survives that only to later get a hyperdermic needle stabbed in his eye. Pretty killer make-up effects throughout. The directing and acting was decent (the guy who played the mortician was bad ass), but the script's dialogue was noticably bad. There was a lot of dumb lines that could have been worded better or removed altogether. You've got to expect that though with these budget flicks.
