Demonia Review

Review: Demonia

Director: Lucio Fulci

Demonia was made after a series of made-for-TV movies Fulci had created (including House of Clocks). Demonia is a return to the glory days of Fulci's work (or at least an attempt to). It has some of the same elements as The Beyond and City of the Living Dead, only it doesn't quite hit the mark. There were a few terrific kill scenes - a woman gets her eyes torn out by cats and a man gets completely torn in half. Demonia's music wasn't too bad (not counting the campfire scenes). There was one particular part of the score that the composers for Dellemorte Dellamore most have been paying attention too. The acting was surprisingly decent for the most part. Meg Register, the female lead, had some wonderfully expressive eyes in which the camera would often zoom in on. The dvd was slim on the extras, but it did have a short interview with Fulci on set (barely) speaking English.
