Sometimes a movie comes along that rises above it's influences, reinventing an old idea in new and interesting ways. But for everyone of those there's a dozen hacks that churn out derivative crap. This one is the worst of the “evil kid” movies I've seen so far. It rips off the Omen, the Exoricist, the Good Son, the 6th Sense – not doing any of these movies justice. The plot: Wacky traffic accident kills kid, Robert DeNiro drops by funeral and talks parents into making a clone. The whole plot relies on the notion that genes retain memories, today's science-fiction at it's most absurd. It's got a plot-twist I had figured out a good half hour or more before it dawns on Greg Kinnear's character. There's nothing scary about this flick, although there are plenty of cheap attempts at it. For instance, arms come from no where with loud sounds as if to say “boo”. This was complete crap from beginning to end.
