Haute Tension (High Tension) Review

Review: Haute Tension (High Tension)

Director: Alexandre Aja

This is one of the best slasher movies I have seen...ever. Definately in a long time. The plot surrounds these two girls who are spending a weekend at a cabin owned by one of their families. In the middle of the night, they start to hear noises, and the killing ensues...

I cannot talk too openly about the movie, because there is a pretty decent twist that comes at the end that I don't want to give away...but know that it was an incredible movie that is definately worth watching. Mulitple times.

The gore is intense and so are most of the scenes in the film. Very violent. The acting is wonderful and convincing, despite the fact that I could only get my hands on a dubbed copy as opposed to the original in French with English subtitles.

The film is being released in June in America, but I will assume they are cutting it back to an R-rating (the original French version carries an American rating of NC-17). I am not sure how different it will be, or what amount of the gore they will cut out. Therefore, I reccommend buying an imported copy offline; just be sure you can play region 2 DVDs as almost all of them are from England/France.

See it now if you can, see it in theatres in June...see it however you can. Amazing movie.
