Review: Return of the Living Dead part III

Ok, so do you remember return of the Living Dead part II ? Why the hell did I pick up part III after I spat sulfur and shit about the previous part - I was waiting for the movie afterward and after watching Bride of the Re-animator my trust in Yuzna was somewhat restored...so there is your reason.
I was surprised to find a stylish intro mixed with some flat teens-in-love plot. That was pretty lame and it just kept coming back, and back, and back and when you finally get to some very gore parts.....IT's BACK !
No there is no hope, ill just take it from you now it stays with you until the very last second !
But still it's not all bad. The zombie-belle of this film actually puts down an almost exectable role, taking the gaping, oozing plot holes and simple ridicule of the whole story into account of course. You don't identify with the characters, you just want her to eat everyone and you wonder why it's taking so damn long. Luckily she has a few snacks on the road.
Up to 3/4th of the film the gore can hardly repair the damage inflicted annoying love-story but when finishing off it gets gore and gore-er ! You see dumpster-action zombies, cyborg- zombies, and a personal favorite the most sugarcoated character; a homeless man who has mother Theresa ambitions gets a 10 inch nail hammered in his skull.
So you get feel-good zombies, evil zombies, a super pierced girl who could give Pinhead a wet dream, a gang of Spanish third-rate mobsters and some munchy brian-grubbing.
Definitely not as utterly breandead as Return of the Living Dead part II (that would be challenge)
Still this movie is more funny than it was probably intended to be. It almost seems like a flick you can watch with your little sister or girlfriend, IF they can appreciate a zombie-flick that is....
If it's picking between part 2 , a standard slasher or 3, definitely go for the latter. But if you can get something better by all means !
