Review: Soulless

Cancerslug is a band that's net of influence are cast across various ranges. Cancerslug's sound is what I like to call "'kinda like' original", as in they sound kinda like a lot of things, but are following nothing. Being that you can't really place them in a solid "sounds like" category, it's very hard to pigeon-hole them... and this is what I love about Cancerslug.
Soulless is a great example of their dexterity; melding hard, fast, and excruciatingly real lyrics into 12 sadly short but righteously bitter sweet packages. The darkness that Soulless emits is nothing short of a direct look into the shit filled gutters that run along side our world. Songs of truth, power, and raw fucking evil are what keeps the underground alive and well. This gritty album stomps through the battle field, pumping hellfire heated blood through the veins of the mainstream's worst enemy: Raw fucking music. Songs like "Cycle of the Wolf" and "Bloodseed" transmit pure hatred and strength, while songs like "Curdled", "It's all Bullshit", and "Fetus Milkshake" piss on the sugar coated veils of all trendy fads, and show complete disregard for any morals you thought you held.
Soulless shows you how fucking weak and powerless the world is when stood up against flesh and bone evil rock'n'roll.
