The Butterfly Effect Review

Review: The Butterfly Effect

Director: Eric Bress, J Mackye Gruber

Surprisingly, this movie was pretty fucking good (especially the first half). I had liked the previews, but the casting of Ashton Kutcher as the lead made me seriously consider skipping it. His lack of acting ability is clearly evident in this flick, but luckily his screen time is split up with a couple younger versions of his character. Nearly all the best scenes from this movie happen when the character is still a kid, some very intense moments. Him and his friends get involved with some pretty sadistic shit (they kind of remind me of my old childhood pals). The basic idea behind it is Kutcher's character finds a way to travel back in time, and so he tries to fix the traumatic events from his childhood. He manages to fuck things up again and again and often finds himself worse off than before. Don't let Kutcher’s presence prevent you from seeing this.
