The Last Samari Review

Review: The Last Samari

Director: Edward Zwick

This was better than I thought it was going to be. Although I'll never understand how Tom Cruise became such a huge name, I think he did ok in this. The thing that bothered me about this was that through the whole movie I felt like I had somehow seen this before. The whole "white man leaves the barbaric US military in favor of the noble savages" thing. Replace Cruise with Kevin Costner and you'd have "Dances with Wolves 2 - The Last Samari". Although the story lacked, the action scenes were bad ass. I never get tired of big budget battles. Thousands of people clashing together, gruesome close ups. Sword fights, gun fights, and at one point - FUCKING NINJAS!!
