The Order Review

Review: The Order

Director: Brian Helgeland

This movie could have been really cool. It's like the writer/director had a really great idea and somehow managed to fuck it all up along the way. Here we have another movie that uses and abuses catholic relgious mythology, in this case the story revolves around a "sin eater". That stuff I really enjoyed, but overall the writing was pretty bad, the pacing was slow, there was no real climax. Some of the ideas behind this movie could have been great, but they even mangaged to make a battle between a priest and some demons seem uninteresting. How can you possibly fuck that up?? The acting was pretty decent, and the movie had a good "look" to it (I personally liked all the "shout-outs" to famous Italian artists).
