Theatre of Blood Review

Review: Theatre of Blood

Director: Douglas Hickox

Vincent Price goes on another early 70's methodical murder revenge spree. It's basically along the same lines as the two Dr. Phibes movies (see reviews for The Abominable Dr. Phibes and Dr. Phibes Rises Again). Instead of ancient curses, Price's character uses deaths from Shakespeare's plays in his murder plots. Aided by a gang of insane hobos, he exacts his revenge on a bunch of pompous critics. His character isn't quite as interesting as Phibes, but of course Price does a great job portraying the angry over-the-top Shakespearean actor. The rest of the cast ain't to bad either. I highly recommend this to anyone who owns a poodle dog.
