Director: Stephen Sommers
You pretty much know what to expect if you've seen the previews for this or his previous Mummy movies - an action flick with a thin plot but a shit-ton of special effects & CGI. It didn't really matter that the story was lacking, everyone knows the story behind Dracula & Frankenstein to varying degrees, no need to be the 1000th movie to rehash it. Instead, it gets right into the action, over the top fight scenes fill most of the movie. The beginning was my favorite part, they did a huge homage to the original Frankenstein windmill scene (in b&w too). There were also some Army of Darkness moments that made me all giddy. In one scene a winged vampire bride takes the leading lady up into the sky as Helsing chases after (in my head I could hear Ash yelling "SHEELA!"). Like the Mummy, it definitely owed a great deal to Indiana Jones. The Return of the Jedi ending was completely uncalled for though. Overall this movie did what it set out to do, entertain.

Hugh Jackman needed to be naked, that would have made the movie a thousand times better. Am I right guys???
